Virat Kohli’s T20 retirement soon? Recent Interview leaves netizens on split: Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli might call it quits from the shortest format of cricket sooner than later after the T20 World Cup 2022. The recent candid interview of the BCCI featuring Virat Kohli distributed the netizens in two halves of opposing views and opinions.
Kohli, who is usually referred to as an aggressive and unrestrained personality, showed his calm and composed face in the recent interview. He touched upon several topics including his performance in the recent past and mental health.
The magical batter who ruled the bowlers in the entire past decade said that he, now, has to push himself to do the things that he normally did without any discomfort.
Notably, Virat Kohli’s last three-figure score came two and half years ago when India played against Bangladesh in a Test match. Since November 2019, the odd scores have come, however, his wait for the 71st century is going on until today.

After the interview, the fans were seen as having two different opinions. While some appreciated Kohli’s blunt and honest interview where he revealed a lot about himself and his troubles in the past few years, others felt that Kohli is using the language which usually players use when they are about to retire.
Moreover, the debate about his T20 retirement escalated following his mediocre outing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 match. He struggled to get his rhythm back initially and also got a life after he was dropped by Fakhar Zaman in the slips.
Despite his early struggles, Kohli eventually found a way to get going and looked in control, however, the old story of his woes continues as he threw his wicket soon after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma got out. He scored 35 runs in 34 balls at a strike rate of 102.94.
