Debbie Lynch kom for nylig med nogle dystre observationer og meninger om bla pigernes antal i dansk badminton.


…..her er et udklip:

“…..i 2010 lagde jeg mærke til, at antallet af piger, der dyrkede vores sport her i Danmark, langsomt faldt…ikke kun i klubberne, men også på turneringsniveau.

Jeg har sammen med mange gode trænerkammerater forsøgt at stoppe denne nedadgående spiral, men når jeg ser mængden af ​​turneringspiger, især i U11 og U13 nu, gør det mig meget ked af det….ja, der er meget snak om præsentationskulturen, træning kun for piger, mange fine ideer om kvinder og pigetrænere, men tendensen i spillerdeltagelse er stadig nedadgående……”

“Hej Debbie. Det er desværre meget sandt 😔

Jeg var til U11A turnering i Herning for et par uger siden med min søn.. her var der 26 drenge med og 4 piger. Og der var endda en landsdækkende turnering med spillere fra alle kredse.

Tak fordi du bringer problemet frem i lyset 🙏🏻”

“Min datter spiller U13 M/A.

Det er hende vi nu skærer ned på antallet af turneringer for.

Hun er gået fra U11A direkte i U13A hvor hun egentlig ikke hører hjemme. Og efter 2 turneringer, var hun pludselig U13M/A
Hun elsker badminton og sammenholdet med de mange andre piger i klubben og træner 2×3 timer 2 gange i ugen, hvor vi kører 35-40 minutter hver vej. Elsker at komme ud og spille turneringer og møde andre piger og har allerede skabt sig fine venner og bekendte i andre klubber.

MEN hun elsker ikke at spille i rækker hvor hun ikke passer ind og hun elsker ikke at der bliver skåret i antal turneringer for ikke at rykke op. Det er en loose-loose situation

Hun taber ikke point når hun taber kampe, men får derimod 13 point for 1 vunden kamp over en modstander med færre point end sig selv.

Den skævvridning gør, at hun alt alt for hurtig rykker op.

Så lige nu går overvejelsen på, om vi bare skal nøjes med træning eller helt stoppe. For selvom hun elsker træning, frygter jeg meget at hun går død i det når hun ikke kommer ud og spiller turneringer.

Omvendt ved jeg også at hun går død i det, hvis hun kommer ud til turneringer og ikke kan spille op mod dem hun er i pulje med.

Så vi står lidt i et dødvande med en trist datter.”

Badminton Danmark har valgt at sætte fuld fokus på strategisporet ’Levedygtige klubber’, for det er ude i klubberne at det store arbejde udføres.

Det er klubberne, der skaber grobund for den nødvendige bredde, der igen er grobunden for dansk badmintons succes.

Uden klubber, uden MANGE klubber, store OG små har dansk badminton ingen bredde og dermed ingen elite!

Michael Kjeldsen, som blandet andet er eliteansvarlig i Badminton Danmarks Hovedbestyrelse, opfordrer særligt trænere fra mindre klubber til at deltage ved arbejdsgruppens første møde 19. oktober.

Jeg håber mange klubber vil deltage!

Kunne arbejdsgruppens første “intro-møde” blive streamet for at signalere åbenhed?

I mit første indlæg den 9. april 2015 på Badmintonbladet skrev jeg bla om ungdom og små klubber vs store klubber….

“Klubbens ungdomsarbejde har været forsømt i en del år, og det vil tage mange år, åh nej, før klubben vil kunne producere en spiller af egen avl til det niveau.

Måske er VBKs (s)tilstand et udtryk for situationen i mange klubber i Danmark.

Min påstand er, at udviklingen af sporten i mange år har været forsømt, samtidig med at der er foregået og stadig pågår en centralisering.

De små og ofte lidt yderligt liggende klubber har mistet medlemmer og de store og mere centralt liggende klubber har fået medlemmer”
